Planning with Perspectives -- Decomposing Epistemic Planning using Functional STRIPS

چکیده

In this paper, we present a novel approach to epistemic planning called with perspectives (PWP) that is both more expressive and computationally efficient than existing state-of-the-art tools. Epistemic — knowledge belief essential in many multi-agent human-agent interaction domains. Most planners solve problems by either compiling propositional classical (for example, generating all possible atoms or formulae normal forms); explicitly encoding Kripke-based semantics. However, these methods become infeasible as problem sizes grow. decompose delegating reasoning about an external solver. We do modelling the using Functional STRIPS, which standard STRIPS supports use of external, black-box functions within action models. Building on recent work demonstrates relationship between what agent ‘sees’ it knows, define perspective each function, build solver for logic around this. Modellers can customise function agents, allowing new logics be defined without changing planner. ran evaluations well-known benchmarks compare planner, scenarios demonstrate expressiveness PWP approach. The results show our planner scales significantly better compared against, express succinctly.

Duality in STRIPS planning

We describe a duality mapping between STRIPS planning tasks. By exchanging the initial and goal conditions, taking their respective complements, and swapping for every action its precondition and delete list, one obtains for every STRIPS task its dual version, which has a solution if and only if the original does. This is proved by showing that the described transformation essentially turns pro...

Undecidability in Epistemic Planning

Dynamic epistemic logic (DEL) provides a very expressive framework for multi-agent planning that can deal with nondeterminism, partial observability, sensing actions, and arbitrary nesting of beliefs about other agents’ beliefs. However, as we show in this paper, this expressiveness comes at a price. The planning framework is undecidable, even if we allow only purely epistemic actions (actions ...

Conditional Epistemic Planning

Recent work has shown that Dynamic Epistemic Logic (DEL) offers a solid foundation for automated planning under partial observability and non-determinism. Under such circumstances, a plan must branch if it is to guarantee achieving the goal under all contingencies (strong planning). Without branching, plans can offer only the possibility of achieving the goal (weak planning). We show how to for...

Epistemic Logic and Planning

Artificial Intelligence algorithms can be divided into two groups according to the type of problems they solve. Knowledge-intensive domains contain explicit knowledge, whereas knowledge-poor domains contain implicit knowledge. Logical methods are more suitable for the first type. Neural networks and case-based reasoning (CBR) are more suitable for the second type. This project combines the infe...
